How to Get Involved in JONAH

JONAH is a volunteer-based organization. At any given time, there are dozens of opportunities to get involved in the work of JONAH. To get involved, contact the JONAH representative at one of the Member Organizations or call our office directly as (269) 660-1950. You can also send an e-mail to the JONAH Community Organizer for more information.

Here are some examples of how you can get involved in JONAH today: 

• Encourage your church or non-profit organization to become a JONAH member
• Attend JONAH public meetings to find out what is happening to make Battle Creek a better place for all of us.
• Volunteer your time at the JONAH office. We’re always in need of people with good office and communication skills.
• Talk to your neighbors about JONAH and give them the new JONAH brochure.
• Meet with your local neighborhood organization and tell them how to get involved with JONAH.
• Attend local government meetings to speak on behalf of key issues that JONAH is addressing.    
• Ask your children, spouse and relatives if they know about JONAH. If not, encourage them to find out more and attend an upcoming event.
• Write a letter to the editor about an issue that concerns you in our community.
• Get to know the City and County Commissioners for your area by name. Call them directly if you have a concern and encourage them to work with JONAH on resolving it.
• Volunteer your time with one of JONAH’s Strategic Partners.

How to Become a JONAH Member

There are no “individual” members of JONAH because membership is held at the level of a faith community or non-profit organization. However, we strongly welcome new members and new strategic partners.
