Welcome to JONAH!
We are a non-profit organization based in Battle Creek, Michigan. Our members include more than 20 local churches and non-profit groups working together for a better future based on common values. We believe that God calls us to live out our faith in the world and throughout the greater community. By collaborating across denominational lines, we can help transform our society into a place of greater peace, justice and prosperity for all. . . one family and one neighborhood at a time. JONAH stands for “Joint-religious Organizing Network for Action and Hope.” Founded in 2004, we are affiliated with similar faith-based action organizations in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing and Saginaw. We are united through the Gamaliel Foundation, a faith-based community organizing foundation based in Chicago with offices around the country. All residents of Calhoun County, Michigan, are welcome to participate in JONAH activities, regardless of age, gender, creed, race, ethnicity or political affiliation. We have many opportunities for involvement and a commitment to empowering ordinary people for positive social change. (Read the FAQ.)
